When Trudy Olson was 7, her teacher noticed she was holding her books very close to her face when she read.

"She's reading with her nose," the teacher told Trudy's parents. "She needs glasses.."

Trudy was promptly diagnosed and prescribed a pair of thick spectacles, she would wear for the next 45 years.

But her vision never improved, instead it deteriorated to the point that Trudy thought she would be completely blind by by the time she was in her 60's.

"It is a very scary thing to think about," Trudy said.

She searched for ways to improve her faltering eyesight. She found the book 'Relearning to See' by Thomas R.. Quackenbush, world rekowned Natural Vision Improvement Teacher and author of the most comprehensive book ever written on the Bates Method 'Relearning to See'.

After taking T. Quackenbush's Vision Improvement Course in San Francisco and improving her eyesight to the point, where she now functions very well without glasses, Trudy completed the certification Teacher Training and opened the Natural Eyesight Institute teaching classes in Washington and Oregon.
